The
Computer Network Engineer will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Provide planning, design and
technical support for Local Area
Network (LAN) infrastructure
components, applications and related
internetworking services
Recommend, install, maintain, and
troubleshoot LAN hardware and
software elements, including file
servers, wireless and wired
networks, workstations, application
software, peripherals, and cable
plant systems
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot
computer hardware and software
elements, including, work stations,
application software, and peripheral
device with some cable plant
maintenance
Configure and install network and
server equipment
Manage and maintain LAN hardware and
software components
Coordinate or initiate
troubleshooting and corrective
action to resolve network or
component malfunctions
Prioritize tasks and workload with
minimal supervision
Maintain records, documentation, and
change history files on locations
and networks assigned
Monitor network and server
performance for capacity planning
and preventative maintenance
purposes
Configure & install LAN work station
software. Diagnose & trouble shoot
application conflicts or anomalies,
down load updates & apply necessary
patches
Research & resolve technical issues
related to LAN peripherals, e.g.
printers, scanners, DVD
burner/players
