Job Summary:
The
Computer Forensics Engineer is
responsible for performing triage or
examination on electronic media to
quickly assess and prioritize the
intelligence value of computer based
electronic media (e.g., hard drives,
CDs).
Job
Description:
The
Computer Forensics Engineer will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Examine configuration files, system
files, and registry information from
operating systems, user created
documents, network routing and
content information
-
Recover and evaluate files for
intelligence value.

Utilize
a variety of assessment tools and
operating systems to examine and/or
process the contents of electronic
computer based media
-
Research new computer and/or
data security tools and
applications, and analyze how they
are utilized
-
Develop
and implement
methodologies and tools to process
and analyze data
-
Keep abreast of
the latest technologies and digital
forensics prevailing practices
-
Recommend and implement the
required practices, technologies and
processes to improve efficiency and
enhance productivity
-
Responsible for developing
strategic assessments about trends,
usage, and threats based on trends
-
Leverage existing
intelligence information and reports
in performing day-to-day duties and
in developing new methodologies.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For Computer Forensics Engineer Job
-
Five years
experience in the area
of Computer Security, Computer
Forensics, Computer Investigations
or a related technical field
-
Working knowledge of theories,
principles, and practices in various
technical/computer science/computer
engineering fields or equivalent
-
Working knowledge of media types,
multiple operating systems, and
multiple file systems
-
Working knowledge of programming
languages
-
Working Knowledge of Internet and
Internetworking technologies (e.g.
firewalls, intrusion detection
systems, computer security tools
etc.)
-
Working knowledge of encryption
systems
-
Working knowledge in intelligence
analysis and production
-
Working knowledge of operational
tradecraft, security and
counterintelligence
-
Ability to work securely using
tradecraft skills
-
Ability to read, translate, and
analyze data in a foreign language.
