Job Description:

• Develop, prepare and maintain moderately complex layouts and drawings according to standard practices with regard to assigned design concepts

• Prepare designs and estimates from general instruction and/or preliminary sketches, diagrams or schematics

• Review engineering drawings and supporting documentation to verify applicability to the end product

• Calculate tolerances, dimensioning, sectioning, and other engineering computations; write specifications and make adjustments in drawings or specifications

• Check completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning

• Maintain working knowledge of CAD hardware/software and peripheral equipment to retrieve information from files, modify existing designs and to display final drawings to verify completeness, clarity and accuracy

• Produce hardcopy.

• Three or more years of design/drafting experience

• Experience working with drafting techniques and standards

• Experience working with CAD hardware and software

• Experience working with engineering principles and procedures

• Experience working with CAD peripheral equipment

• Two years experience in drafting/illustrating in the electronics field

• Experience to include: computerized drafting applications, digital imaging techniques, use of AutoCad, planning and preparing graphic presentations of complex items

• Good organization skills to balance and prioritize work

• Good analytical and problem solving skills

• Good interpersonal skills to communicate with department personnel.
