Clerical Assistant - Medical Records Job Description

 

 

 

Job Description:

The Clerical Assistant - Medical Records will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • On a daily basis, process requested records received from the fax machine, and fax copies of medical records to appropriate requestors

  • Perform data entry, scanning requests, and providing customer service support for the department

  • Answer the phones, and assist physicians

  • Perform clerical backing up when necessary.    

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Clerical Assistant - Medical Records Job

  • Previous medical records experience preferred
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service experience and phone skills
  • Familiarity with working a fax machine
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is helpful
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform computer work, push and pull carts.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Clerical Assistant - Medical Records Job

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
