Clinical Administrative Coordinator Job Description

 

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for initial triage of members, administrative intake of members or managing the admission/discharge information post-notification, working with hospitals and the clinical team. He/She will also manage incoming calls, manage requests for services from providers/members, provide information on available network services and transfer members as appropriate to clinical staff.

The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will also manage the referrals process, process incoming and outgoing referrals, and perform prior authorizations. He/She will also perform intake, notification and census roles.

Job Description:

The Clinical Administrative Coordinator will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Respond to incoming provider and enrollee calls

  • Resolve customer service inquiries which could include:
    - Enter notifications, Providers status of an existing notification and determining if notification is required.
    - Complete notification wizard along with ICD-9 and CPT coding
    - Provide excellent customer service to both providers and enrollees
    - Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining good attendance.
    - Assist with faxes and emails.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Clinical Administrative Coordinator Job

  • 2+ years of customer service experience analyzing and solving customer problems, AND/OR 1+ year of experience in an office setting environment using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job duties

  • Knowledge and experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

  • Ability to operate a Computer and familiarity with Windows PC applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Healthcare Industry experience

  • High Volume Call Center experience

  • Medicare and/or Medicaid experience

  • Ability to multi-task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product

  • Ability to remain focused and productive each day though tasks may be repetitive.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Clinical Administrative Coordinator Job

  • High School diploma or GED.
