Job Summary:
The
Supervisory Information Technology
Specialist - Information Security will
serve as a Section Chief specializing in
information security at the Corporate
Data Center Operations (CDCO).
Job
Description:
The
Supervisory Information Technology
Specialist - Information Security will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Lead a
team of three or more IT security
personnel in managing the daily
administrative and technical processes
for CDCO security programs
-
Develop
proposals, technical requirements, and
statements of work for program services
provided by CDCO
-
Conduct
security reviews to ensure compliance
with applicable security policies and
verify that appropriate safeguards are
maintained
-
Ensure
internal and external customers have a
high level of satisfaction with program
services
-
Track
metrics for all managed program areas
-
Develop
and maintain directives, handbooks, and
operating procedures in support of
programs and functions.

Experience managing and/or
supervising the work activities of a
staff of IT professionals;
overseeing information access
management program compliance;
formulating projects or studies
intended to substantially alter
existing identity and access
management; applying appropriate
laws, policies, regulations, and
procedures to information security
activities; and instructing,
advising, or training others with
regard to a variety of information
security issues
-
Knowledge of best practices for
assessing information system
security
-
Skill in dealing with audits,
security control assessments, and
other reviews
-
Ability to lead a team of IT
security professionals
-
Ability to effectively investigate,
troubleshoot, and analyze
security-related problems
-
Ability to communicate with senior
management.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Supervisory Information Technology
Specialist - Information Security Job

One year of specialized experience
equivalent to the next lower grade
level (GS-12 level).
