The Solutions Architect - Information Technology will be a senior level, experienced technical expert in one or more highly specialized areas of IT engineering to participate in a team responsible for deployment and management of an Oracle Argus global platform. He/She will act independently under general direction; provide technical leadership on project efforts; may act as expert in business or functional area; formulate and define system scope and objectives.

He/She will devise or modify procedure to solve business problems, suggesting modifications, enhancements and changes to the platform. He/She will be responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation; and may be responsible for multiple phases of a project.

Job Description:

• Serve as senior level technical expert on the product team

• Define deliverables, costs and benefits and contribute to ROI assessment

• Explore technical and architecture options based on platform requirements and present solution approach options to the team

• Prepare design, development, implementation, and maintenance plans for systems

• Interact with corporate and project team members to negotiate timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables

• Engineer software, system and/or programming solutions across projects and/or technologies to meet internal and external needs

• Perform peer review of work products such as code, designs, and test plans produced by other team members

• Provide expert review of system development work with regard to IT standards and validation procedures

• Mentor junior team members in training and developing technical expertise

• Perform other duties as directed. 

• Experience with adverse event processing solutions, particularly Argus, strongly desired
• Experience with ESTRI transmission gateway technologies strongly desired
• Proficiency in related, underlying technologies, including SQL, Oracle, XML, and integration technologies and standards
• Hardware/software/infrastructure setup and testing (based on specific position)
• Possess an expert knowledge in software development tools, practices, and lifecycle methodologies
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Excellent aural, verbal, and written communications skills, to include writing/editing of technical documentation for international audiences; effective presentation skills
• Ability to serve as technical contributor/leader on a global engineering team
• Experience with producing documentation in a regulatory-compliant (life sciences) environment
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• 7 or more years of professional experience, with 5 years working in solutions architecture.
