Job Summary:
The
Senior Network Engineer - Information
Technology will
be responsible for providing technical
and project leadership to the voice and
data communication network team in
support of all aspects of LAN, WAN, and
Internet resources. He/She will review
the design and implementation of
projects to manage the utilization and
availability of LAN, WAN and/or Internet
capabilities.
He/She will
develop,
prepare, and review periodic reports to
measure utilization and performance of
all data communication technologies.
The
Senior
Network Engineer - Information
Technology will
make
recommendations for tactical and
strategic improvements; assist in
monitoring and maintaining network
security throughout the firm. He/She
will support other voice/data
communications projects as required to
address the overall needs of the firm.
Job
Description:
The
Senior Network Engineer - Information
Technology will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Act
as the team lead for the data
networking functions
-
Review and assist in the processing
of all communications related
invoices
-
Participate in IT leadership
meetings
-
Design, implement, and maintain LAN,
WAN, and Internet technology
throughout the firm
-
Coordinate the configuration,
monitoring, and maintenance of
switch, router, prioritization,
firewall of other data
communications related technology
-
Work
with external vendors and local IT
support staff to troubleshoot and
correct data communications issues
and/or outages
-
Develop and produce periodic reports
to track the utilization and
performance of the various data
communication technologies
-
Work
closely with the Information
Security function to ensure the
security of the Company’s data
networks and its connection with
outside networks
-
Complete periodic reviews of log
files and other applicable reporting
tools related to network hardware to
maintain network security
-
Assist with voice communications
projects and support as required
-
Assist with videoconferencing
technology support and
troubleshooting as required
-
Work
with other internal and external
groups to investigate, review,
design and implement other new
communication technologies that
offer benefits to the firm.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

Information Technology Job

Demonstrated strong knowledge of
data communications technologies and
hardware, including LAN, WAN, and
Internet technologies
-
Demonstrated strong interpersonal
skill and the ability to lead others
-
Prior
supervisory experience of a small
team is desired
-
Strong understanding of network
security issues and practices
-
Strong written and verbal
communications skills
-
Ability to communicate effectively
with both internal associates and
external vendors of all levels.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Senior Network Engineer - Information
Technology Job
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer
Science or Information Systems with
4-5 years of work experience
managing a multi-site data
communications network, or a
Bachelor’s degree in a business
related discipline with 6-8 years of
data communication networking
experience
-
Cisco
Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
or Cisco Certified Network
Professional (CCNP).
