Under general supervision, responsible for completing assigned complex or long-term projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines

Initiate, track, handle, and resolve trouble tickets using Remedy application

Independently perform the following systems tasks/analysis: -Performance monitoring - Disk Storage space - Processor utilization - Paging space - Network statistics - Process listings (i.e. I/O statistics) - Review error logs - User ID maintenance (i.e. adding, deleting, resetting) - Printer maintenance (i.e. adding, deleting, updating, queue management) - Review logs (i.e. backup, crontab) - Monitor and change nightly cycle where necessary - Backups/Restores - Perform software administration as needed - Perform non-system software installation - Insure compliance with vendor software licensing requirements - Software media management - Monitor failed login attempts - su attempts - Password changes - Manage file and directory permissions - Insure proper execution of batch programs during on-call periods - Monitor roots mail - Development of shell scripts to perform daily administration task - Problem notification (i.e. sending pager and e-mail notifications) - Independently perform hardware replacement for failing components - Perform complete documentation of systems design / administration tasks

Configure and Maintain Disk Storage Systems Engineer Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storages (NAS) Design and Implement Tape Storage Systems (TSM) Implement Networks for AIX Systems

Lead systems design efforts and make recommendations to management

Adhere to established systems standards

Provide technical leadership in both the planning and installation of new systems

Create technical drawings and lead layout activities for new computer systems

Provide second level support for Production Control Team

Provide work direction to Engineers, Analysts, and Technicians

Assume a leadership role in directing and reporting team activities to management

Handle of day-to-day operational service requests

Monitor production equipment to ensure expected operational capabilities are maintained

Perform other duties as assigned.
