Job Summary:
The
Release Manager IT will
be responsible for managing all cross
team dependencies and consider business
priorities when scoping, planning, and
certifying an application/change release
into the testing and production
environments respectively.
Job
Description:
The
Release Manager IT will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Facilitate resolution and communication
of cross-organization decisions,
standards, and issues
-
Design
and manage the Configuration Management
process for transferring
application-related changes between the
development environments and the
production environment
-
Provide
input to QA Management when planning the
testing process and defining the
approach for user acceptance testing.
Help plan and support the user
acceptance testing and help address any
issues
-
Adhere to
Configuration Management standards and
methodologies when overseeing the
software development cycle through the
various test environments and its
implementation into production
-
Ensure
scheduled changes take place, ensure
that policy, regulatory and control
requirements are met
-
Ensure
all application documentation is
properly updated with signoff
-
Promote
effective teamwork and manage
interpersonal issues
-
Contribute to continuous improvement by
leveraging Six Sigma, CMM, or other
methodologies.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Release Manager IT Job

Ant,
shell scripting and understanding of
release methodology
-
Knowledge of Hudson is a plus
-
Ability to work over the weekend and
after business hours to manage
application deployments
-
Strong Configuration Management
experience
-
5
years of relevant development,
testing and/or project management
experience
-
5
years of Release Management work
experience
-
Solid
understanding of the major
functionality bundled into a
release, both from a technology and
business point of view
-
Solid
understanding of Project Management
methods
-
Strong knowledge of business areas
-
Strong negotiation skills
-
Strong knowledge of relevant
configuration management analysis
and planning tools such as Clear
Case, ClearQuest and Test Director
-
Strong knowledge of relevant
applications and development of life
cycles.
