Regional Information Technology Director Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Regional Information Technology Director will be responsible for managing and overseeing the operations, infrastructure, budget, and personnel of the Regional IT Department and data center. He/She will oversee IT system security in the organization to ensure safety of data and IT systems.

Job Description:

The Regional Information Technology Director will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Responsible for the management of multiple information and communications systems and projects, including voice, data, imaging, and office automation

  • Ensure the IT organization complies with established corporate policies and procedures including HIPAA and Sarbanes Oxley regulations

  • Maintain and submit quarterly compliance reports per Organization’s internal compliance program

  • Oversee the training of staff to ensure they are able to competently use computer software and hardware

  • Oversee the proper storage of all system backups and disaster recovery strategies

  • Participate in a governance structure that aligns IT initiatives with business priorities while balancing resource constraints (human and fiscal) to optimize IT investments. This governance process will produce an annual IT plan and budget that is integrated into the system planning and budgeting processes

  • When necessary coordinate with the Organization's Acquisitions Team to assure smooth transition of all IT systems, infrastructure, and personnel for newly acquired systems within the region

  • Provide strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information and technology systems for the regional IT organization

  • Monitor and report on the performance of IT projects including actual vs. expected results, budgets and project duration

  • In conjunction with other leaders, understand and establish the working relationship with the Project Management Office or similar business unit responsible for organizing the project approval and selection process

  • Reporting to and communication with Organization corporate IT and Division and Organization Leadership on progress, risks, status, and opportunities

  • Oversee vendor contracts and relationships between onsite resources and external entities (e.g. government, vendors, researchers and other related organizations)

  • Facilitate communication between staff, management, vendors, and other technology resources within the organization

  • Design, implement, and evaluate the systems that support end users in the productive use of computer hardware and software

  • Oversee the local Wide Area Network (WAN) along with the integration with the corporate WAN and systems

  • Provide support in troubleshooting of regional systems and computer problems

  • Implement and support Organization’s G2G (Getting 2 Great) initiative in regards to information technology across all entities.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Regional Information Technology Director Job

  • 10+ years managing IT organizations
  • 3+ years related industry experience
  • Strong management and people skills
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of project management
  • Working knowledge of project management techniques and tools
  • Working knowledge of network administration, server and database management, Citrix, VMware and IBM iSeries
  • Decision-making skills and experience
  • Communication skills.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Regional Information Technology Director Job

  • Four-year degree in an IT related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
