Information Technology Support Specialist Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Information Technology Support Specialist will assist the Technical Lead in the operations and maintenance of theCompany Virtual Network Environments (VNEs).

Job Description:

The Information Technology Support Specialist will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Implement hardware and software footprints to duplicate network services

  • Plan, coordinate, implement, and manage separate VNEs for customers

  • Implement IP and VLAN schemas to support operationally realistic VNEs (duplicates of customer networks)

  • Implement active directory schemas and group policy objects to support the VNEs

  • Configure and test boundary suites to apply security protections to VNE boundaries

  • Support customers using the VNEs inside the Company during missions

  • Identify and analyze system requirements

  • Develop and maintain system applications and security

  • Implement upgrades, patches, new applications and new equipment

  • Develop and maintain Standard Operational Procedures and Disaster Recovery Plans. 

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Information Technology Support Specialist Job

  • Strong understanding of network principles based on academic or industry training
  • Experience with Cisco product line (routers, switches, firewalls) to include multi-protocol support environments
  • Experience with Microsoft networking (server - infrastructure interaction, network services, and active directory) to include supporting Microsoft in a distributed environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of network architecture and design and their application in the MAN, BAN and LAN environments
  • Fundamental understanding of securing networking protocols in a mixed protocol environment
  • Experience in performing network troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Understanding of investigating and analyzing network enclaves for performance and connectivity issues
  • Preferred experience in one or more of the following: Non-Cisco product line (routers, switches), Firewall product line, Other Vendor OS (Linux, Unix, etc)
  • Experience with military network support contracts, including deployable network environments.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Information Technology Support Specialist Job

  • One (1) year experience (with a Bachelor’s Degree in Technology Management, Information Technology, e-Business or related field or a High School Diploma (+5 Years experience).
