Description:
The
Information Technology Specialist -
Mobile Technology will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
-
Develop
and Maintain applications for Smartphone
platforms, initially focusing on iPhone/iOS
and Android-based devices
-
Provide
information systems solutions necessary
to support VA business practices
-
Develop
applications for mobile devices
-
Direct
and perform complex programming and
system development tasks
-
Participate with focus groups and/or end
users to analyze, evaluate, test and
make recommendations to improve existing
software applications.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Information Technology Specialist -
Mobile Technology Job

Knowledge of infrastructure
engineering policies and procedures
directly related to mobile
technologies, security and
information protection
-
Ability to use system analysis and
design techniques to assess the
merits of major aspects of
information systems enhancements,
proposed modifications, and/or new
developments
-
Ability to communicate orally
-
Ability to communicate in writing
-
Ability to establish and execute
effective test plans and to work
with an independent test team
(software quality assurance experts)
-
One
year of specialized experience
equivalent to the next lower grade
level (GS-09 level). Specialized
experience includes: Planning and
monitoring mobile technology
projects; Managing enterprise-level
mobile technology initiatives;
Developing and analyzing system
requirements; Planning, organizing,
and coordinating resources to meet
information technology (IT) program
objectives; and Evaluating and
recommending new and/or enhanced
approaches to the delivery of mobile
technology services.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Information Technology Specialist -
Mobile Technology Job

Ph.D.
or equivalent doctoral degree in one
of the following fields of study:
computer science, engineering,
information science, information
systems management, mathematics,
operations research, statistics or
technology management or at least 3
full years of progressively higher
level graduate education leading to
a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral
degree that provided a minimum of 24
semester hours in one or more of the
fields identified above and required
the development or adaptation of
applications, systems, or networks.
