Job Summary:
The
Information Technology Ministry Site
Director, reporting directly to the
Chief Information Officer with a
matrixed reporting relationship to the
senior executive of the ministry, will
be responsible for conducting business
systems analysis, and provide
coordination and communication necessary
between the ministry users of I.S.
services and regional I.S. support
resources.

Description:
The
Information Technology Ministry Site
Director will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Assist
the user community with strategic
planning for future IS systems and the
ongoing optimization of existing systems
Participate in major systems
implementations, and may provide local
project leadership for small projects, a
base level of systems support, and user
training
Responsible for general oversight of all
I.S. activities either ongoing or
planned within the ministry
Establish
and maintain effective working
relationships with staff at all levels
in the Region, as well as with System
Office, Enterprise Security, ProvTech,
and other regions' staff, vendors and
agents, and others.

years of technical, professional,
and/or managerial experience with
increasing responsibilities,
preferably in a hospital based
environment
Experience with and a general
knowledge of healthcare operations
and computer systems used in
healthcare operations
Experience and ability to
effectively build relationships with
site leadership and healthcare
providers
Knowledge of business and operations
of customer entity, and the overall
organization
Skill
in assessing organizational
information needs
Skill
in communicating technical concepts
to non-technical audiences
Skill
in effective oral and written
presentations
Knowledge of information systems
equipment, technologies,
terminology, methods, and procedures
Knowledge of information system
analysis, design and data management
concepts
Knowledge of current trends,
technological changes and
developments in healthcare
information systems
Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with
various levels of staff, both direct
report and dotted line
Skill
in writing general and technical
reports, as well as project charters
Skilled in writing documentation
according to established standards
Ability to work independently,
manage multiple tasks, and set
priorities for self and staff
Skill
in using desktop computers and
associated software products such as
Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Project, Visio, and Outlook
Knowledge of the principles and
practices of budgeting as it relates
to IS program management
Ability to perform tasks within
established time constraints
Knowledge of Providence's
Information Services project
management methodology
Knowledge of the principles and
practices of management, including
planning, organizing, directing,
motivating, controlling and decision
making
Skill
in delegating elements of department
workload to subordinate staff
Skill
in analyzing program data, drawing
conclusions, and making appropriate
recommendations
Skill
in interviewing and selecting
employees
Knowledge of administrative policies
and procedures, personnel rules and
guidelines, and affirmative action
guidelines.
