Job Summary:
The
Information Specialist - IT will Create
and maintain data configurations for a
system level database information
system. He/She will act as a knowledge
resource to users of the system,
providing information, training and
problem solving services.
The
Information Specialist - IT will
configure and run scheduled and ad hoc
informational and analytical reports. Job

The
Information Specialist - IT will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Using a
variety of source documents and
procedural standards maintain the
database on a regular basis by adding
new items, make update changes, and
inactivate non-current record
-
Audit
database records and make corrections
-
Maintain
current and accurate records and files
in the database
-
Act as an
information resource to end users of the
database functions and information
-
Respond
to questions, request for information
and provide user training
-
Research
business information and data content
issues to solve problems
-
Provide
data management and reporting services
to end users, such as data imports, mass
uploads, structured and custom reporting
-
May be
assigned to a variety of other business
information or business unit support
work.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Information Specialist - IT Job

Two
or more years of related experience
in the assigned business line, with
a broad understanding of the data
subject

Ability to formulate calculations
and analyze results, to research and
compile basic statistical reports
and to solve problems
-
Effective verbal and written
communication skills and effective
interpersonal and customer service
skills
-
Ability to work effectively with
standard desktop applications and
software at an intermediate or
better level (word processing,
spreadsheet, presentation, database,
graphics, emails and personal
information manager, virus
prevention, and internet/intranet
browser)
-
Experience with SQL Database
-
Next
Gen (preferred experience)
-
Crystal Reports
-
Medical Terminology
-
Excellent PC skill
-
Ability to work closely with
non-technical employees (in some
cases) to include: RNs, providers,
and office staff
-
Ability to ensure professional
business etiquette at all times

Ability to communicate both verbally
and written between physicians,
nurses, managers.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Information Specialist - IT Job

High
school diploma or equivalent, and
two or more years of advanced
education, or education and work
experience in the use and structure
of complex database systems.
