Executive Director Information Technology Job Description

 

 

 

Job Summary:

The Executive Director Information Technology, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, will be responsible for leading overall strategic and operational direction of Company’s information systems and processes.

He/She will be responsible for contributing to Company’s overall business strategy, direction, and establishing group-wide goals & objectives. He/She will work collaboratively with the leadership team to proactively translate the group’s business needs into information technology (IT) solutions that best enable the Group to meet its strategic objectives.

The Executive Director Information Technology will also serve as a member of Company’s IT Council. He/She will have global oversight of global information systems, data management and IT staff with the objective of providing robust and cost effective global IT systems & support.

Job Description:

The Executive Director Information Technology will perform all or some of the following Job description:

  • Responsible for Company’s overall information technology strategic planning & roadmap. Identify the strategic IT implications and opportunities resulting from major corporate strategies and change initiatives. Understand business trends and the direction technology must take to support the business. Must be able to anticipate business needs in order to develop effective IT strategies

  • Direct Company’s overall global IT budget, delivering the business value required, meeting business and financial objectives, and ensuring budget policies and procedures are rigorously followed

  • Responsible for assuring the robust delivery of services globally by determining appropriate staffing levels and managing relationships with other partners responsible for services. Responsible for ensuring Company has the leadership & talent bench strength to deliver business plan results. Effectively manages the overall direction of global Company IT staff

  • Support sales growth, innovation/engineering, & manufacturing robustness by identify opportunities to significantly enhance business performance by championing effective information systems, ERP (SAP), engineering design software, and business processes that provide real time information for improved decision making

  • Lead the development of effective networks of internal and external customers, suppliers, the technical community, vendors, and consultants. Effectively motivate the local IT organization to meet the aggressive goals needed for the business to succeed

  • Drive expectations and promote global IT & cross-functional synergies that involve new technologies, require significant organization or process redesign, require changes in business strategy, or cross lines of business, customers, functions, or geographies

  • Ensure IT systems support quality initiatives though a broad knowledge of all technical areas including development, operations, infrastructure, disaster recovery, contingency planning, and security

  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce IT policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Maintain knowledge of international IT policies, programs, laws and issues

  • Serve as a member of Company’s IT Council. Council members are responsible for communicating & coordinating Company IT initiatives

  • Provide guidance regarding future IT strategies & initiatives

  • Represent Company’s needs within the Council.

Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill For Executive Director Information Technology Job

  • Seven (7) years of experience working in a principal IT senior manager/executive capacity of increasing responsibility, within a dynamic growth environment that makes data driven decisions
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing environment and international IT leadership are strongly preferred
  • Ability to function at a strategic level; Experience with enterprise-wide system implementations, and extensive hands-on experience as an IT professional
  • Demonstrated work history of advancing IT systems & practices as a business partner to executive management in a complex and/or matrix-operating environment
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to effectively direct Company’s overall IT operations in order to maximize systems & service delivery and cost efficiencies; consistently meets objectives timely and accurately
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts and proposals
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive matters with objectivity and discretion; High personal standard of integrity
  • Strong financial acumen; must be capable of conducting quantitative analysis, with a proven ability to work with numbers and financial data; must also have strong budgeting skills and understanding of ROI
  • Technical knowledge in the areas of ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) and internal/external information & system security
  • Proven focus on ability to forge strong partnerships with the various business units within and outside the organization
  • Proven business strategist focused on enterprise strategy, innovation and differentiation
  • Proven ability to build high-performing, high-morale, self-managing teams that function well in complex environments.

Minimum Education Requirements / Certification / Licensure For Executive Director Information Technology Job

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information systems or related area
  • Advanced degree or additional business management degree desirable.
