Job Summary:
The
Director Information Technology -
Banking will be responsible for
directing the application development
and maintenance activities within Bank’s
Information Technology (IT) group.

The
Director Information Technology -
Banking will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Schedule
resources and assign development and
maintenance tasks according to
departmental and business objectives -
Provide
leadership in the analysis, planning,
design and implementation of tightly
integrated, efficient, cost-effective,
scalable solutions -
Work
closely with application business owners
to understand business priorities and
the role of technology in support of
department objectives -
Maintain
long-range and near-term plans to ensure
availability of appropriate skills -
Develop,
maintain and enforce compliance with
application development and maintenance
standards, procedures and methods -
Assist in
the development of release schedules of
key software application modifications
and enhancements -
Provide
consultative advice as appropriate to
the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and
business executives on emerging
practices, technologies and applications
to achieve Bank’s business objectives.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill
For Director Information Technology -
Banking Job
-
8-10
years experience, including 5 years
managing staff of 15 or more in an
application development and
maintenance function
-
5
years developing, implementing or
technically supporting applications,
preferably in banking, insurance, or
financial services; or appropriate
combination of education and
experience
-
Successful track record of process
improvement through developing or
implementing applications
maintenance tools or structured
methodologies
-
Experience in negotiating favorable
terms with contract developers and
effectively utilizing contract
options to augment base resources as
appropriate
-
Advanced experience in prioritizing
and managing backlog of application
development and maintenance work,
estimating work tasks and
forecasting level and mix of skills
needed to support Bank's business
objectives
-
Advanced knowledge of systems
development life cycle and related
methodologies
-
Proven track record of effectively
implementing cultural change in the
development and implementation of
new technology related programs,
products and services
-
Demonstrated competence in vendor
negotiations and contract
development and in managing the work
of vendors and/or subcontractors
-
Ability to positively motivate teams
and instill accountability for
on-time, within budget project
delivery
-
Ability to build and maintain
effective working relationships with
all levels of management and staff
-
Ability to work effectively in a
team environment
-
Occasional travel
-
Available for occasional work
outside normal business hours.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
Director Information Technology -
Banking Job

Bachelor’s degree in computer
science, information systems,
engineering, or relevant discipline.
