Job Summary:
The
IT Server Team Manager
will be responsible for coordinating the
local direction and selection of
technologies, products, and standards,
in alignment with Company enterprise
architecture and shared services vision.
Team manager will manage a team of
System Administrators supporting the
enterprise server environment running
Windows and Unix OS and enterprise
storage infrastructure. Lead a team
providing onsite and remote support 24 X
7; making strategic decisions on
hardware and software standards, vendor
management, process engineering and
extensive project management.
This includes monitoring, maintaining
and executing tasks to established
standards, and managing resources to
meet timelines and deliverables.
The
IT Server Team Manager will lead and
direct departmental operations including
distribution of assignments, staff
training and development. He/She will
build business relationships and
partnerships throughout IT and the
business units and provide counsel to
leadership regarding technology to
enhance business performance. He/She
will be responsible for overseeing and
mentoring staff in the performance of
their duties.

IT Server Team Manager will perform

Coordinate teams for day-to-day
operations technical support

Control and report project progress
and results

Take
the lead on IT initiatives; able to
conduct and effectively resolve
issues in meetings

Act
as a consultant to others in expert
area

Work
in collaboration with project
managers in project discovery or
analysis

Responsible for implementing and
maintaining a backup and Disaster
Recovery system with acceptable
SLA’s

Responsible for maintaining and
updating established procedures,
guidelines and best practices in
support of the company's Windows,
Linux and Storage systems
-
Oversee monitoring of critical
systems and processes provide and
manage escalation of events
impacting schedules
-
Provide mentoring to staff with
various levels of technical
expertise
-
Implement and document procedures
including backup, hardware and
software maintenance/updating and
monitoring
-
Oversee and coordinate vendors in
the provision of timely service and
repair of servers and storage
devices
-
Ensure staff adheres to and follows
all established company and
department policies and procedures.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

In
depth knowledge of Windows, Linux,
and storage devices, to include
security and compliance, resource
and infrastructure management, and
disaster recovery

Experience in Enterprise Backup
using NetBackup suite
-
Extensive experience supporting
Microsoft Exchange e-mail
-
Extensive experience designing,
building and supporting virtual
server infrastructures
-
Previous hands-on technical
experience and expertise in; mid to
large sized corporate environments,
management of large scale projects
pertaining to systems upgrades for
hardware and system software
applications
-
Management experience, demonstrated
leadership, listening, written and
verbal communication / mentoring
skills
-
Working knowledge of networking
concepts including network
management software programs
-
Well
versed in a variety of end user
technologies, productivity tools,
monitoring and support
-
Ability to successfully communicate
complex technical ideas and concepts
to employees of various knowledge
levels

Ability to stay abreast of advances
in technology and makes proposals
appropriate for the company’s vision

Ability to work independently and
supervise staff with various levels
of experience

Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For
IT Server Team Manager Job

Bachelor’s of Science degree in
Information Services or equivalent
certifications plus 8 – 10 years
technical information services
experience plus 3 – 4 years of
information services management
experience.
