Job Summary:
The
IT Network Specialist
will be responsible for performing technical work in
the installation, configuration and
maintenance of local and wide area
network information systems to include
microwave infrastructure, Land Mobile
Radio (two-way radio) service delivery,
wireless local loops and satellite based
communications equipment and services.Job
Description:
The IT
Network Specialist will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:

Perform quality assurance and
diagnostic testing of equipment and
services as appropriate
-
Consult with clients regarding
potential service technical improvements
and modifications
-
Perform the complex technical tasks
necessary to install and maintain wide
and local area
communications networks
-
Innovate technical solutions and
work-arounds
-
Plan, coordinate and accomplish
special projects within employees area
of assignment
-
Document and perform all
administrative duties associate with job
function to include
working with CA Service Desk, filling
out IPR's submitting work order forms
and other
administrative functions as required
-
Interact with peer technicians to
exchange information and techniques
relative to equipment
and system maintenance
-
Maintain assigned vehicles, test
equipment and documentation, and the
workplace
(including remote sites) ensuring they
are in a safe, clean and functional
condition
-
Install very high frequency (VHF) and
ultra high frequency (UHF) system base
stations,
install and remove tower mounted
antennas
-
Implement, integrate, troubleshoot
and debug new system
installations and the testing of all RF
analog circut design and Digital
Microwave systems
-
Perform repairs and installations of
communication equipment (i.e.
telephones, facility
wiring, computer drops, field mobile
unit, microwave sites, WAN/LAN network,
and radios,
fiber optic).
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge /
Skill For IT Network Specialist Job
-
Three (3) years experience in the
installation, alignment or repairing
of 2 GHz to 20 GHz analog or digital
microwave systems or with Land
Mobile Radio (two-way) radio
equipment and systems
-
State Driver's License and a
current Defensive Driving Course
Certificate; or must obtain a Defensive
Driving Course Certification within
six (6) months of hire as a
condition of continued employment
Ability to climb towers up to 300 feet
or more
Ability
to
travel to remote locations and
accept altering on-call weekends
Experience in climbing and
performing work on communication
towers
Ability to perform independently
Ability to continuously learn more about
the complexities of the systems and
new equipment
Ability to be a self starter with
little guidance
Experience in data communication
working with IP and network
configuration of
communications equipment such as
switches, routers and Digital
Service Units.
Minimum Education Requirements /
Certification / Licensure For IT Network
Specialist Job

Associate Degree in Computer
Science and Management Information System

Training in electronics or a
related field at a vocational or
technical school.
