Job Summary:
The
IT Business Analyst - Clinical
Operations will work as a liaison among
stakeholders in order to elicit,
analyze, communicate, and validate
requirements for changes to
business/clinical processes, policies,
and information systems. The Business
Analyst understands business/clinical
problems and opportunities in the
context of the requirements and will
recommends solutions that enable the
organization to achieve its goals.
In addition to being accountable to
direct line Management, the Business
Analyst will be accountable to and take
direction from the VP, IT Clinical
improvement. The Business Analyst will
directly interface with IT's internal
customers at the Manager and Director
levels.

The
IT Business Analyst - Clinical
Operations will perform
all or some of the following Job
description:
Assess and interpret business,
clinical, and end user needs and
requirements and translate specific
portions of business/clinical
requirements into system
requirements, revising existing
system logic difficulties as
necessary
Document the business/clinical
impact of system issues
Assist in formulating and defining
requirements, design, testing,
implementation, training, and
support through research and
fact-finding, combined with a basic
understanding of business/clinical
systems and business unit
requirements
Research the impact of alternatives
and assists in developing
recommendations on business/clinical
solutions to meet stated objectives
Assist in the implementation and
ongoing support of clinical
applications and systems necessary
for clinical operations
Act
as liaison between systems
development staff, management, and
system end-users
Define and manage the scope of a
business/clinical solution to meet
the goals of the organization
Support production and development
activities at the site
Develop clear and concise ad-hoc
reports utilizing the current
analytical and reporting environment
Serve
as a resource to others
Provide on-going support including
resolution of application system
incidents, root cause analysis of
problems, impact analysis, and
planning of proposed system upgrades
and patches, analysis and
development of enhancements to meet
changing customer business/clinical
requirements
Ensure all enhancements, upgrades
and patches are thoroughly tested
and planned before implementation in
the production environment.
Minimum Requirements / Knowledge / Skill

3+ years of information systems
experience
3+ years experience in
business/clinical systems design
and analysis, business/clinical
operations workflow design and
implementation, systems QA
testing and/or business/clinical
systems training
3+ years experience working in a
healthcare environment
3+ years experience in clinical
workflow and hospital clinical
application experience
2+ years experience with Cerner
Millennium
2+ years experience with Cerner
Charge Services
Understand and employ
fundamental concepts, practices,
and procedures relating to
systems analysis and design
Knowledge of business/clinical
operations and in-house
business/clinical systems
Ability to understand IT
projects and concepts as they
relate to high-level business
objectives, and ability to
present those concepts to both
IT and non-IT audiences in a
concise and
easily-understandable manner
Possess a structured,
process-oriented problem solving
mentality
Strong knowledge of MS programs
e.g. Word, Excel, and Access
Strong analytical and
problem-solving skills
Possess thorough understanding
of business/clinical analysis
techniques and tools
Proven abilities in problem
management, process analysis,
and root cause analysis
Strong communication skills
(written and verbal) for
information gathering and the
ability to interact with various
client groups
Ability to work in a complex and
matrixed team environment
Ability to handle multiple
tasks, set priorities, schedule
and meet deadlines
In depth knowledge of Cerner
Charge Services in relation to
Cerner PowerChart, Cerner
Clinical Documentation, Cerner
Order’s Management, Cerner
RadNet,and Cerner PathNet
Ability to work in a complex and
matrixed team environment.
Minimum Education Requirements /

Bachelor's degree in Business,
Computer Science, Information
Systems or equivalent professional
experience.
